Overview

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Report to: Development Manager/Director
  • Location: 80% in HCMC, 20% in Quang Nam

What You Will Do

Support Cultivation and Stewardship of Corporate and Individual Donors and Prospects

  • Work closely with the Development, Alumni and Community team to plan and execute a sequence of communications, actions and events for each donor in the portfolio to increase their understanding of and commitment to Teach For Vietnam
  • Prepare and support Growth Manager to execute actions in line with the strategic and operational plans and monitor progress against plan (i.e., prepare meeting briefs and materials, capture meeting downloads, prep donor follow-up, draft correspondence, track when tasks are completed, identify when tasks are overdue, etc.)
  • Support the Growth Manager in producing high-quality written communications by:
    • Drafting, proofreading and editing communications
    • Compiling data and supplementary materials (financial reports, news articles, statistics on programmatic initiatives, corps member/alumni anecdotes, etc.)
    • Partnering with the marketing team to adapt templates and other materials as needed
  • Collect and synthesize relevant statistics, stories, and anecdotes to be used in tailoring donor pitches and meeting materials
  • Planning and running inspiring events and school visits for corporate donors including: managing all logistics and preparation; creating and compiling materials; coordinating hosts, corps members, alumni and speakers, and managing execution of follow-up
  • Manage the gala dinner event
  • Support launch of Teach For Vietnam Week

Conduct Prospect Research and Data Analysis

  • Conduct research to identify potential donors to add to region’s prospect list specifically looking for evidence of whether a prospect is mission-aligned, has capacity to contribute and whether there are existing connections we can leverage to get in front of the prospect
  • Conduct research on new and existing donors to identify motivations and barriers to contributing to our organization and potential levers to deepen their connection to and support of our work
  • Prepare tailored meeting briefs and materials based on research and analysis

Manage Development Operations

  • Maintain fundraising database and files that include accurate donor information (background research, biography, etc.)
  • Efficiently track all communications, actions, events, and fundraising commitments for each donor in the portfolio
  • Process gifts as well as writing, managing and tracking gift acknowledgements for all individual donors
  • Work closely with the rest of the development team to manage the calendar of all development activities and to maximize opportunities that span multiple funding streams

Support Marketing/Communications

  • Create/draft communications for key constituents who impact our development efforts, including corps members, current supporters, and prospects in order to inspire action and/or provide updates on our work
  • Support the team in producing high-quality written communications by:
    • Drafting, proofreading and editing communications
    • Compiling data and supplementary materials (financial reports, news articles, statistics on programmatic initiatives, corps member/alumni anecdotes, etc.)
    • Partnering with the national marketing team to adapt templates and other materials as needed
  • Oversee the production of our quarterly Development newsletter in collaboration with Community, Training and Support team and RSM team.

Event Planning and Execution

  • Assist the Development Director in coordinating logistics for events tailored for individual donors, including but not limited to
    • School visits
    • Gala dinner
    • Teach For Vietnam Week

Provide Administrative Support

    • Assuming a proactive role in increasing the efficiency and organization of the Growth Manager
    • Preparing meeting packets, toolkits, proposals and mailings
    • Other responsibilities as determined by organizational need

CANDIDATE PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience strongly preferred
  • Prior administrative and/or development experience strongly preferred
  • Highly organized with proven time management skills and experience creating efficient systems to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Motivated by meeting ambitious deadlines and exceptionally detail-oriented
  • Possesses a spirit of flexibility, a positive outlook and a strong customer service ethic
  • Comfortable with and excited by managing back-end operations and taking care of the details
  • Motivated by getting results through others and able to prepare superiors and peers to execute
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Critical thinker who displays good judgment in prioritizing problems to resolve and opportunities to pursue
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional personal responsibility for meeting goals and a track record of success
  • Ability to operate with purpose, urgency, and accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of MS Office and InDesign are preferred
